Up until now I didn’t know that a couple can say “I dos” on the stage of this tiny theater in Tuscany. So I went down to Lucca to visit this very special place last December. Loredana, the lovely Curator of the Teatrino was waiting for me at the piazzale Verdi in the center of Lucca and together we went to see this interesting new location. Loredana also explained that the Teatrino di Vetriano was acquired and brought to live by the FAI ( Fondo Ambiente Italiano) in 1997 and now hosts artistic and cultural events. The whole story is quite an amazing one and I will write another blog post about it soon!

Well, where can you find it? Direzione Vetriano! The village of Vetraiano is located in the municipality of Pescaglia, and it is a handful of stone houses, surrounded by narrow streets and ancient olive trees, cradled by the silence of the Tuscan hills, “covered” in chestnut trees, vineyards and fragrances of the woods, so typical to this part of Tuscany. Once in Vetriano, down a very narrow alleyway ..a shot walk and step inside the Guinness World Records smallest public Historic theatre in the world! This destination wedding location is only 71 square meters, but has everything a regular theatre must have! It was built in 1890 by local villagers who decided to transform what used to be a barn in a gathering place for the community. This tiny theatre was added to the Guinness World Records list in 1997 as the smallest public Historic theatre in the world. You will find this Teatrino about 20 km from Lucca, it took me 20 min. to get their by car. It’s been open to public as a wedding location since 2012.My guess is that you’ve just found the most “theatrical” location for your wedding ceremony in the whole of Italy. You can hold your wedding ceremony here and choose a nice Villa for your wedding reception in the area or celebrate your wedding reception in Versilia coast style. I will be happy to help you find the most suitable location for your wedding.
Have a FANTASTIC 2014! My best wishes from San Gimignano to all!
