Siena

 he Palazzo Pubblico has kept its original function to this day as it was built starting from 1297 to house the government of the city.
The Palace is on the spectacular Piazza del Campo. What an amazing location for a wedding after all! All of  Siena’s civil weddings are performed inside the historic Palazzo Pubblico.

Siena’s  wedding hall is  indisputably one of the best civil wedding locations in Italy.  The amazing frescoes, the incredible height of the carved ceilings and sheer majesty of the Palazzo’s halls will overwhelm you. Florence

Florence City Hall "Palazzo Vecchio"

The Palazzo Vecchio is one of the most well-known civic buildings throughout Italy, now the city hall of Florence. Dating back to 1300’s, this massive, Romanesque, crenelated fortress-palace is among the most impressive town halls of  Tuscany. Overlooking the Piazza della Signoria with its copy of Michelangelo’s David statue as well as the gallery of statues in the adjacent Loggia dei Lanzi, it is one of the most significant public places in Italy.

 Volterra

Volterra with its mesmerizing landscapes guards the Oldest Town Hall in Italy. Undoubtedly, Stephenie Meyer’s vampire novels have put Volterra on the map and made this Etruscan City a more intriguing destination! Civil weddings are held in the Palazzo dei Priori, a medieval masterpiece, designed by Maestro Riccardo in 1239, the Palazzo dei Priori is the oldest municipal building in Tuscany, overlooking the main square, which is also called “dei Priori.” The civil wedding are held in the Hall of the Great Council, located in the Palazzo dei Priori. The hall can hold a party of about 90 people.

One can get to know more about this very special city by visiting the civic museums: like the Etruscan Museum, the Civic Picture Gallery , the Museum of  Sacred art and the Eco-museum of Alabaster or just by simply walking through the streets of the historical center.

 San Galgano Abbey

Way off the beaten track,  there is just something in this area that I can only describe as majestic about this place.

Cortona

Cortona city hall wedding

The stunning Cortona has become well-known thanks to the best-selling book by Frances Mayes, “Under the Tuscan Sun”.  The city of Cortona, enclosed by stone walls dating back to Etruscan and Roman times,  sits on the top of a hill about 600 meters above sea level. This dominant position over the valley offers a spectacular view from all over the town of the surrounding valley and even Lake Trasimeno. According to some Italian publications Cortona holds the third place among Italian cities (after Venice & Positano) for forieng weddings.
Civil weddings are held in Sala del Consiglio ( the Council Hall ) in the Town hall of  Cortona.

 San Gimignano

San Gimignano civil weddingsGet married in the Manhattan of the Middle Ages. San Gimignano, with its almost intact urban structure is one of the best examples of  European medieval architecture  has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Originally an Etruscan village, the town was named after the bishop of Modena.

 now there are only 13 of them left. San Gimignano town hall  (once Podesta’s residence) houses the civic museum and the uspicture gallery and dates back to the 13th century. Civil ceremonies are held in The Sala Dante, which holds the marvelous  Maestà of Lippo Memmi based on the work of the same subject by the artist’s brother-in-law, Simone Martini, in the Palazzo Pubblico in Siena. The painting gallery gathers examples of the key moments in the artistic history of San Gimignano.

CertaldoOne of the small treasures of Tuscany - Certaldo Alto wedding hall

Get married in the home town of Giavanni Boccaccio,  best known for his earthy masterpiece the “Decameron”.

Unique to Certaldo, the civil ceremony is performed outdoors, in the courtyard of the magnificent Palazzo Pretorio which is set on the highest point of the town Certaldo Alto. The Palazzo’s exterior is decorated with coats of arms and heraldry, very impressive indeed. Montepulciano is another wonderful example of the medieval Tuscan beauty . Fairy tail Poppi castle wedding

Looking for a fairy tale style  ceremony location for your wedding? The Poppi Town hall is the perfect Castle  to tie the knot in Italy!  The Castle of the Counts of the Guidi family is one of Tuscany’s most significant works of medieval architecture and tourist attractions.
The weddings are held in the Castle main Hall , in the courtyard or the Library.The courtyard can hold up to 50 guests and the main Hall about 100 guests. The Library is also available for small groups.
