The Castle of the Counts of the Guidi family

{Location:  Province of Arezzo, 35km north of the city of Arezzo, 60km east of Florence}

We chose Italy because we already had a vacation planned to Italy when we began to talk about marriage.  After lots of research, we decided to stay in Tuscany for the 16 days we were in Italy.  There was so much to see and do in Tuscany without feeling like a tourist.  We were thinking about eloping at home, but couldn’t pass up the chance to do it in such a beautiful place.  We relied heavily on Natalia for advice on the where and how.  After looking through the options she sent us together, we knew Poppi was our place.  Small, quaint town, and who doesn’t want to get married in a castle?

Our wedding day:

The day was perfect from start to end.  We started with a beautiful drive from Pontassieve to Poppi.  We had already been in Tuscany for 1 week and seen so much, but the views of the Casentino Forest were breathtaking.  The moment we saw the castle in the distance, we both started to tear up.  We changed into our wedding attire in a library full of ancient books.  The ceremony was so beautiful and personal.  Natalia’s script was so heartfelt. After the ceremony we celebrated with prosecco and a walk around Poppi while taking photos to share with our families back home.  We never felt stressed or rushed to accomplish things.  The entire day was relaxing and romantic in ways we could have never imagined.  Natalia helped to organize a private wine tasting at a local winery to end the day.  It was honestly a fairy tale and it has been so fun to relive that day every time we are asked about our wedding.
